Verizon Military Talent Network
Everyone is familiar with Verizon. They’re a huge telecommunications company that employs more than 160,000 people. What Hoosier Veterans may not be aware of is that Verizon has a long track record of supporting the U.S. Military and Veterans. For starters, they offer a 15% discount to all Active, National Guard and Veteran service plans, and 25% off all accessories. More importantly, Verizon employs more than 4000 Veterans, is committed to hiring even more, and has an internal apparatus just for military vets to help you move up within the company.
That program is called the Verizon Military Talent Network. In the Midwest, the program is headed by Rodney Greenwood, a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. The sole purpose of his team is to seek out talented National Guardsmen, Veterans, transitioning service members, and their spouses to assist them with potential employment opportunities with Verizon. The Military Recruiting Team is made up of Veterans from all branches of service and a military spouse. They’ve been through the military transition process, and really understand the unique challenges we face.
If you are looking for a new job, or a better job, you owe it to yourself to check out the opportunities at Verizon.
First and most importantly, go to the Verizon Military Talent Network. This will allow Verizon to find you for other opportunities in the future.
Next, review the Verizon Career Website and search for job opportunities using the Military Skills Matcher and your location. If you find a job opportunity that you feel qualified for, review the entire job description and ensure your resume is tailored to reflect the qualifications if you have them. It’s important to include those key “buzz words” and to address all of the required qualifications.
If you’d like assistance ensuring that your resume is on target, feel free to share it with Mr. Greenwood. He will be able to assess your resume and skills and help you determine if the position is a good fit for both you and Verizon. If you have direct level work experience and feel strongly that you meet all of the qualifications listed and are sure you have a strong resume, please apply, but notify Mr Greenwood so he can track your application.
Verizon is a Community Partner and strong supporter of the National Guard Association of Indiana.
