Apprentices in most trades meet one night per week and are required to complete three house of online homework each week. Computer access is required. ABC does offer a computer lab that can be used to meet this requirement.’
Pipe fitting, Roofing, Sheet metal and Welding do not have online homework; therefore, they meet two evenings per week.Classes at most locations meet from 5p to 9p. An apprentice can miss a total of eight hours per semester.REGISTRATION/TUITIONRegistration for the school year starts in spring prior to class attendance and will be taken up to two weeks prior to the class starting. The school year runs September to May. The school year is broken into two semesters with a Christmas Break. Any days missed to due to weather will be made up.Tuition generally runs approximately $1700 per school year. The tuition is billed in two separate billings. The tuition is inclusive of all materials and books.ABC does not offer financial assistance and is not covered by most federal or state tuition assistance programs. ABC will work with you to develop a payment plan that meets your needs.


All Indiana apprentices in a 4 year program are encouraged to complete an Associate of Applied Sciences degree from Vincennes University. the VU classes are taught during the last six weeks of the school year. They meet one night a week from 5-9p in the same location as the trade classes. The day of the week an apprentice attends class may change. The General Education required classes are English, Communications, Environmental Science and Personal Finance.

side2On the Job Learning hours are a required component of the successful completion of the ABC Apprenticeship Program. Four-year training programs require 8000 hours of OJL, three year programs require 6000, and two year programs require 4000 hours OJL. OJL hours are paid according to Department of Labor Standards. OJL hours are turned in monthly for tracking and are also used to determine when the apprentice is eligible for a pay increase according to the DoL.
