Back Home Again in Indiana: welcoming home newly minted veterans

 In Community Sponsors, Employment

Every WEEK, 100 – 125 Hoosiers cycle out of active duty military service.  That’s almost 5,000 men and women a year who make a decision whether to come Back Home Again to Indiana or settle in a new place as they conclude their military service.

The Duke Energy Foundation provided funding to reach out to these new veterans with just that request: Consider coming home. These are mature, well-trained, disciplined people who could contribute to our neighborhoods, our economy, and our quality of life.  We want them to resettle here.

The Duke Energy Foundation “Back Home Again in Indiana” mailing includes invitation letters from Governor Holcomb, the head of the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs, the Adjutant General of the Indiana National Guard, the director of the Department of Workforce Development, and the Duke Foundation. View Governor Holcomb’s letter here.  View the letter from the President of Duke Energy here.

Thanks to Duke Energy Foundation and all those people who live in the Duke service area for making this possible.
